This is an exceptional gesture from the SNCF. The group announced that it would reimburse 100% of travelers whose TGV was more than 4 hours late during the breakdown caused by stormy rains on Friday evening in the middle of a crossover of holiday departures. The railway company assured to have already contacted the interested parties by email. “Their ticket will thus be fully reimbursed,” she said, confirming information from RTL radio.

For other travelers whose train was delayed, “the usual conditions of compensation will apply”, assured the SNCF. The scale provides for a refund of 25% of the ticket price between 30 minutes and 2 hours late, 50% between 2 and 3 hours and 75% beyond 3 hours late.

A delay of 7:30

Friday evening, lightning during stormy rains caused a signaling failure at Massy (Essonne) south of Paris and generated a mess of delays on the Atlantic axis, at the start and finish of the Montparnasse Station. The outage was resolved in the evening but “residual delays” occurred all day Saturday.

One of these trains, which left Paris on Friday 1h30 late, finally arrived in Nantes in the middle of the night, 7h30 after the scheduled time, after being stopped in the middle of the track for more than two hours. SNCF did not specify the number of travelers or trains affected by the full reimbursement measure.
