Job Description

The preliminary investigation manager will be responsible for managing the investigation process, making decisions related to the investigation, supporting and coaching investigators, coordinating ongoing investigations, ensuring compliance with regulations and legislation, participating in training efforts, and evaluating operations. They may also be required to fulfill the role of a group leader or preliminary investigation leader in other groups when needed.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must have a Police education according to Ordinance (2014:1105) on training to be a police officer, an academic degree, or equivalent training or work experience. They should have good verbal and written communication skills, a valid B driver’s license for a manual car. Additional qualifications such as preliminary investigation management training, experience in criminal investigative work and work management, and knowledge of the police’s central investigation system will be considered advantageous. Personal characteristics that are highly valued for this position include a genuine interest in investigating crime, personal responsibility, flexibility, good decision-making skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team.
