A 23-year-old woman has revealed that she broke up with her boyfriend after they watched the Barbie movie together. The pink-drenched film has brought many fans together, yet one couple it has been torn apart.

The anonymous woman took to Reddit to share that after she and her boyfriend, 23, went to the movies to see Barbie, she broke up with him due to disagreeing with the feminist themes in the hit movie starring Barbie. Margot Robbie.
She questioned in a thread her partner’s reasons for his “weird comments about women and the LGBTQ community.”
The post read: “Am I a jerk for breaking up with my boyfriend over the Barbie movie? I literally don’t know what to do right now, and I feel so helpless turning to Reddit for advice/validation, but three days ago my boyfriend and I went to see the Barbie movie. I’ve been very excited as I’m a huge Greta Gerwig fan and my boyfriend liked Ryan Gosling, other than he was in the movie my boyfriend didn’t know anything else about it.”

The girl then explained that she was “aware” of the film’s many “feminist themes” and realized as it progressed that her boyfriend was uncomfortable with them.
“I, on the other hand, was aware of her feminist themes and secretly hoped my boyfriend would get the message. Throughout the movie I could tell he was getting more and more awkward/annoying and it was making me really sad (both because of the movie and his reaction). I knew we would end up having a conversation about it later. He didn’t speak to me until we got in the car, then he told me he was really offended by the movie and commented that it was the kind of thing I should have watched with my friends and not him,” the anonymous woman added.
She explained that the couple had been having problems before seeing the film, noting that she was “tired of having to deal with his attitude and disrespect.”
After finishing it, she asked her now ex-boyfriend to pack up his things and move out and he agreed.
The anonymous woman said that when she returned home she noticed that all the food was missing from the fridge, the batteries in her electronics drawer, her phone charger and half the blankets were missing, adding in another post that she also took your “Dyson AirWrap” hair straightener.
