The CNOSF has issued a negative opinion on the reinstatement of FC Sochaux in Ligue 2.
The end of the suspense, and sad news for FC Sochaux. According to Est Républicain, the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) issued a negative opinion on Tuesday evening regarding the reintegration of the Doubiste club into Ligue 2. The efforts of Romain Peugeot, helped by investors to make an offer of takeover and injections of new capital, will therefore not have been enough to redress a catastrophic financial situation.
This decision, not yet official, seems to be directing FC Sochaux towards bankruptcy and a demotion to the lower divisions. The situation should benefit Annecy, 17th and relegated at the end of the season, which could be reinstated in the second division while the resumption of the season is expected… this weekend.
The CNOSF was not convinced by the takeover project led by Romain Peugeot, great-grandson of the founder of the almost century-old club, declared to AFP the president of Greater Belfort, Damien Meslot, whose agglomeration had planned to bring one million euros to the FCSM.
