The Facua-Consumidores en Acción association has denounced the promoter Lastur Bookin SL before the Bilbao City Council and Kontsumobide, the Basque Consumer Institute for imposing “unfair terms” in the latest edition of BBK Live, which was held from 6 to 8 July with the assistance of 115,000 people. They refer to preventing access to the venue with food and drink from abroad, “violating the right that assists users, given that the main activity of this organization is not the hotel business,” they say.

In the briefs filed before both instances, they complain about the “high” prices of food and drink available in Kobetamendi. In his opinion, this measure “may entail a very serious infringement in accordance with the sanctioning regime contained in article 51 of the Law on Public Entertainment and Recreational Activities”, which alludes to “exercising the right of admission in an arbitrary, discriminatory or abusive manner”. .

They also question whether the cashless wristband system is accepted as the only method of payment within the facilities. They believe that it goes against Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007, which approves the consolidated text of the General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users.
