20 percent increase in school student transport service charges

by time news

The All Ceylon All Provincial School Student Transport Service Association has decided to increase school transport service charges by 20 percent from tomorrow as the government has not yet responded to the fuel relief request.

Ruwan Prasad, President of the All Ceylon All Provincial School Student Transport Services Association, addressed a media briefing in Colombo today.

The government had raised fuel prices last week. We had asked the government 10 days ago to take action to provide us with fuel relief accordingly.

But no one on behalf of the government has called us yet in this regard. Schools are reopening tomorrow after the holidays. So he said we have no choice but to increase the school transport service fare.
