Some are now only “contactless” and draw their bank card for any purchase. But there are still many who prefer to pay their groceries or pay their bills in cash. The proof: in 2022, 50% of transactions were made in cash in France. Yet, with many bank branches nationwide closing and the rise of online banking, customers who favor coins and notes don’t always find their way there.
