The Ukrainian air defense shot down about 15 drones heading for Kyiv overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, announced the head of the military administration of the capital, Serguiï Popko.

Ukrainian forces “detected and destroyed nearly 15 aerial targets” on the approach to Kyiv, Popko said on Telegram, adding that they were “Shahed” explosive drones.
“According to the information available at the moment, there were no casualties or damage in the capital,” he added.
The air alert, the 820th in Kyiv since the Russian invasion began in February 2022, lasted three hours, Popko said.
Moscow regularly rains Iranian-made “Shahed” type explosive drones on Ukrainian rears.
The previous night, the Ukrainian army had claimed to have shot down more than ten drones in the sky of the capital. The falling debris caused minor material damage, but no injuries.
On the other hand, Russian drone attacks had caused significant damage on Wednesday at dawn on Ukrainian port sites in Izmail, on the Danube, infrastructure that has become crucial for grain exports.
