The musician Ines Osinaga created and proposed ‘The sea is the only way’ with the intention of bridging the Basque and Cuban cultures and will continue in the same vein during her presentation in Itziar on September 2nd. “The journey we started in March 2022 continues,” said the native of Arrasate. It will be a live presentation, the first of two sessions proposed to share what has been experienced in recent years. The second will be on October 6, in Havana.
Thanks to the Joseba Jaka grant that Osinaga received in 2022, he has developed the ‘The sea is the only way’ project. It was the first album presented as a soloist after the prosperous career with the Gose group, which was released at the Durango Azoca. Now, the singer from Arrasat will take a second step and present it live on September 2nd in Itziar. The entrance to the show will be free, but since the capacity is limited, it will be necessary to register in advance from the organization.
As he said, he will not be alone on stage, as Osinaga will be accompanied by musicians from Cuba and the Basque Country: Naile Sosa (percussion), Irina Gonzalez (guitar) and Yaima Orozco (guiro, keyboard and mood guajiro). He also explained that many other musicians will collaborate, such as Olatz Salvador, Miren Amuriza, Garazi Egiguren and Janire Etxab.
On August 6, a preview will be shown at EITB, the live performance of ‘Lau teilatu’ recorded in Gasteiz. Besides that, a teaser is already visible.
