Violence and Tension Escalate in Haryana as Prohibitory Order 144 Issued and Internet Access Suspended

New Delhi – The state of Haryana is currently reeling from a violent clash that broke out between two parties during a rally organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. The clash, which resulted in the loss of six lives, has set off a series of unfortunate events, including the burning of mosques, shops, and vehicles.

The violence, which initially erupted in the Nooh area near Gurugram, has now spread to neighboring districts such as Gurugram, Faridabad, and Palwal. The situation has deteriorated to such an extent that 20 Central Action Forces have been deployed in these areas to maintain law and order.

In response to the escalating violence, the Haryana Chief Minister, ML Khatter, issued a stern appeal to the public to maintain peace. However, he candidly admitted that it is impossible to protect everyone, even with the presence of the police and army. This statement reflects the seriousness of the situation and the challenges faced by the authorities in restoring calm.

To prevent further unrest, the government has implemented Prohibitory Order 144 in the affected districts. This order restricts the gathering of more than four people in public places and imposes other preventive measures. Additionally, to curb the spread of inflammatory messages and misinformation, internet services have been suspended in Nooh, Faridabad, Balwal districts, and sub-divisions of Gurugram until August 5th.

The tension and violence in Haryana serve as a grim reminder of the fragile social fabric that exists within the state. The clash between the two parties during the rally has left a trail of destruction and loss of lives. As the situation continues to worsen, the deployment of Central Action Forces and the imposition of Prohibitory Order 144 are desperate attempts to restore peace and normalcy.

It is imperative for all sections of society to exercise restraint, refrain from resorting to violence, and actively work towards maintaining peace. Only through collective efforts can Haryana overcome this crisis and prevent further escalation of violence and destruction.
