The Turkish Foreign Minister will visit Iraq in the second half of August

Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahhaf confirmed that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will visit Iraq in the second half of this August.

Al-Sahaf said, in a statement received by Al-Masalla, that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein received the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Iraq, Ali Reza Konay.

He added that during the meeting, aspects of cooperation between Baghdad and Ankara were reviewed, and ways to strengthen and develop bilateral relations, in a way that serves the interest of the two friendly peoples. The two sides also discussed the upcoming visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to Baghdad in the second half of this month, in addition to deliberating on Turkey’s contribution. The Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the Iraqi government tends to create an attractive environment for foreign investment, and to provide ways to develop promising investment opportunities for foreign companies to invest in Iraq, noting that Turkish companies have played an important role in the construction process in Iraq.

For his part, the Turkish ambassador affirmed his country’s desire to resolve outstanding issues between the two countries, indicating that the coming period will witness a quantum leap in the development of relations between the two countries.
