The horror in South Korea. A man attacked passersby with a knife on Thursday in a South Korean city before being arrested, police said, with the Yonhap news agency citing a death toll of 14. The attack took place in Bundang, a satellite city of Seoul located about twenty kilometers from the South Korean capital. The suspect “was arrested at the scene,” police said.
Several victims in critical condition
According to Yonhap, the assailant, in his 20s, first injured bystanders by driving his car down a pedestrian street, before stabbing customers in a department store. He stabbed nine people and injured five others with his vehicle.
At least eight of the nine stabbed victims are in critical condition, according to Yonhap, adding that the man made incoherent remarks after his arrest. This attack comes shortly after a similar attack on July 21 in Seoul, which left one dead and three injured.
