Extension and modernization of the Adif Circulation Regulatory Center in Seville

Adif has expanded and modernized the Traffic Regulation Center, CRC, in Seville to respond to the progressive implementation of Automatic Blocking in the network and the extension of the lines under management, both in Andalusia and Extremadura.

The new Center almost doubles its size to 283 square meters where a hundred professionals work, and now manages 1,505 kilometers of conventional gauge track, through which some 226,704 trains run per year.
The Seville CRC controls traffic on the lines Zafra-Huelva Mercancas, Zafra-Jerez de los Caballeros, Mérida-Los Rosales, Lora del Río-Cartuja, La Salud-Cádiz, Bifurcacin Cartuja-Huelva, Red Arterial Ferroviaria de Sevilla and Bifurcacin from Utrera-Source of Stone.
It also regulates the circulation of the Bay of Cádiz tram between Río Arillo and Cádiz, in the section in which this new transport system uses the Seville-Cdiz line, and the high-speed and conventional lines that run through Extremadura.
It also coordinates the work of its auxiliary CRCs in Córdoba, Granada and Málaga, which complete the regulation of rail traffic on conventional lines in Andalusia. Among its functions is permanent communication with train drivers of passenger and freight railway operators, and with external entities and services, such as Civil Protection, Fire Brigade, Health Services, etc.

Equipment

The new CRC in Seville has a new twenty-two meter long video wall, the first laser technology implanted by Adif and more energy efficient, which reproduces a scheme of all conventional gauge railway lines in Andalusia and Extremadura.
The room has fifteen positions for regulation operators, supervisors, traffic management, complementary activities and reserve personnel. It also has an ODS watch, the identity of the new CRC whose design developed by the internal team includes a second hand that refers to the Sustainable Development Goals promoted by the United Nations.
