Create, create, build a house. You know the Swabian saying. Those who perform consistently will eventually be able to create property for themselves. Generations of Austrians have also grown up with this promise. Salzburg sometimes delivers the highest property prices paired with the highest cost of living. Work alone, i.e. performance, no longer enables anyone to buy a home here. And if you look at the requirements for a purchase, it quickly becomes clear that large parts of the middle class are also looking through their fingers.
