The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flavio Dino
stated the threat to shoot President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT ) was not an act of “freedom of expression”.
Yesterday (3), the Federal Police arrested André Luiz Teixeira, a farmer from Pará who had an alleged plan to commit an attack against Lula.
The Chief Executive visits the state in the North of the country this Friday (4). PF information reveals that the man tried to find out in which hotel the PT candidate will stay in the city of Santarém.
According to the corporation, the boy said he had participated in anti-democratic acts at Praça dos Três Poderes, having invaded the green room of the Chamber of Deputies. Teixeira will respond for the crimes of threat and incitement or preparation of an attack against a person for political reasons.
Dino also said that the PF “will continue to apply the law against criminals” and asked that people “peacefully protest and wait for the 2026 election”.

This morning an operation was launched that fulfills a search and seizure warrant against a vigilante suspected of spreading threatening images of attacks on President Lula on social networks.

, capital of Pará. The objective was to avoid the possibility of an attack against the PT member, since the suspect, according to the PF, is a security guard and carries a firearm.
This is the second case of suspected attack against the Chief Executive this week. Upon arriving this Friday in Parintins, Amazonas
, Lula complained about having to ride in an armored car. The president’s security has been beefed up because of the threats.
“Me inside a car as if I were inside a prison”, said the PT candidate. “We take a long time to come to a country town, we take a long time. I haven’t been here for 20 years. I come down from the airport, they put me inside an armored car, smoked glass, there was black film, I can’t see anyone and nobody can see me,” he added.
