Kinshasa: the 9th Games of the Francophonie intend to close at the marquee of the Palais du Peuple and not at the Stade des Martyrs (CongoForum)

KINSHASA – Started a few days ago in the capital of the DRC with the representation of several countries of the world, the Francophone Games are going towards the end. Initially scheduled at the Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecost, the solemn closing ceremony of the IX Games, coupled with the evening of the winners, will be organized in the big tent of the Palais du Peuple on Sunday August 6, 2023, confirm several sources in the capital.

Cultural activities and related musical productions are maintained and will be organized on the esplanade of the Palais du Peuple as part of the Nuits de la Francophonie.

The Congolese teams have behaved well since the start of this event. The Democratic Republic of Congo has already won eight medals in cultural competitions in these ninth Games of La Francophonie. Three gold medals have already been won in literature, hip-hop dancing and giant puppets, a silver medal in digital creation and three bronze medals in ball juggling, storytelling and painting.

Among these 8 medals, the host country was honored by the Congolese who won this Thursday, August 3 in the performance hall of the People’s Palace the silver medal won in the creative dance competition.

Regarding this creative dance competition, which is an activity of production of bodily forms carried out alone or with others in order to translate an intention and arouse an emotion in the spectator, the DRC had to face three countries: the Mauritius, Burkina Faso and Benin.

After 15 minutes of presentation from these three countries, the members of the jury finally declared the country the winner according to the different criteria of creativity and it is Burkina Faso which will occupy the first place, Benin the third place and the DRC in second position. with a silver medal.

Remember that there are only two days left for the Games of La Francophonie to end in Kinshasa.
