On the fifth day of the Evaluation of the Ministries, in accordance with the mission letters assigned to them by the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister, Head of Government, it is with enthusiasm that the Ministers of the Republic continue to join the Palace de la Colombe to defend their half-year report, explain the difficulties encountered and also seek advice. Accountability policy obliges!

This Friday, it all started with the Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy. After his appearance before the Evaluation Committee, Ousmane Gaoual Diallo reports: “It’s an exercise in transparency, it’s also an exercise in consistency and then advocacy. Because it shows what we have been able to do so far. Also, it gives us the opportunity to better structure the requests and expectations we have in terms of budget support, in terms of strategic choices…”.

Then, it will be the turn of the Minister of Mines and Geology to join the Prime Minister. Accompanied by members of his cabinet, Moussa Magassouba, after speaking with the Evaluation Committee said this: “My comrades and I are here to present the progress but also the major challenges in the execution not only of the general objectives, reform objectives but also specific objectives that allow the Ministry of Mines to continue maximizing revenue for the Guinean treasury. Evaluation is a means of maximizing the effectiveness of public teams in the management of resources in order to improve the living conditions of Guinean citizens”.

Shortly after the Minister of Mines and Geology, it was the Head of the Department of Energy, Hydraulics and Hydrocarbons and his suite who took their place before the Evaluation Committee of the Prime Minister. Aly Seydouba Soumah gives in the following lines his impressions of this accountability exercise: “This evaluation has enabled us to better identify the challenges we are facing, to explore avenues for improving solutions, to reflect in such a way that we can carry out the planned activities. This, to allow the entire population to benefit from all the activities planned at the beginning of the year…”.

As of this Saturday, July 29, 2023, other ministers are scheduled to appear before the Evaluation Committee for the same exercise, a symbol of transparency and accountability.
