Halo Infinite’s August Update to Bring New Map, Improvements, and Bug Fixes

Since the release of Season 4: Infection, Halo Infinite has been a hit among gamers, with the villain Iratus capturing the attention of players everywhere. However, the developers haven’t stopped there and are set to release the August Update next Wednesday, August 9, with exciting additions, improvements, and bug fixes.

One of the highlights of the update is the introduction of a new map called Dredge. This map takes inspiration from the popular map Countdown in Halo: Reach and offers a fresh take on the scenery and gameplay flow. Players will be able to enjoy Dredge all day long in the Dredge 24/7 playlist starting next week.

In addition to the new map, the Halo Infinite team has been actively working on addressing top community requests. One of the improvements focuses on the Pelican vehicle drops in Big Team Battle. The team discovered several systems that delivered vehicles in a predictable but inconsistent manner. To align with the expectations of Halo fans, the system has been improved to deliver the same vehicles on both sides of the map in the same wave, although there may be slight timing differences due to different Pelican flight paths.

The August Update also brings enhancements to the BTB Fireteam experience. The team has responded to community feedback regarding intro cameras, ensuring that the lineup shot with four Spartans at the start of each game will prioritize showing members of your Fireteam when playing in the BTB mode.

The highly satisfying Extermination medal, accompanied by Jeff Steitzer’s iconic voice line, “Extermination,” will now be available in all multiplayer modes. This medal was previously limited to specific game modes but has been extended based on popular demand.

Another improvement addresses the static death cams in Halo Infinite. Previously, the death cam remained static to ensure a fair environment where teams only gathered earned information. However, feedback from players led to the decision to allow players to rotate their death cams and spectate teammates while waiting to respawn, enhancing teamwork and communication.

The Forge mode also receives some love in the August Update. A reactive water plane, which reacts to gameplay interactions such as footsteps, bullets, and explosions, will be added to Forge. This new feature allows creators to enhance map aesthetics and provides more dynamic gameplay experiences.

Additionally, the Forge menu folders will receive a quality-of-life (QoL) update, allowing creators to expand and collapse all folders with a single action. This update also addresses various community-reported issues and bug fixes to improve the overall stability and gameplay experience.

The August Update demonstrates the Halo Infinite team’s commitment to addressing community feedback and continuously improving the game.
