Since June 2023, it has been happening, in the format on-linethe extension course “Capoeira: Educational training for citizenship”, promoted by the University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusofonia (Unilab) and the National School of Physical Education and Sports of Guinea-Bissau (ENEFD).
This initiative, which has the participation of 40 Unilab students, is part of the project “Capoeira: educational training for citizenship in Guinea-Bissau”, managed by the Pro-Rectory of Institutional and International Relations (Prointer/Unilab), an international cooperation together with the National School of Physical Education and Sports of Guinea-Bissau (ENEFD) and the Faculty of Human Motricity of Bissau, with the aim of promoting capoeira as a pedagogical and citizenship resource. Thus strengthening capoeira as an educational element in Guinea-Bissau.
The online extension course on capoeira is coordinated by the professor at the Institute of Humanities and Letters (IHL), Elízia Ferreira, who emphasizes the participation of capoeiristas. “they have enriched the experience of Guinean colleagues, generating important debates and promoting shared knowledge. Capoeira is approached as a pedagogical tool for citizenship, exploring history, philosophy and sociology of practice. We share some special moments from virtual meetings!“
The action will take place until December 2023, with the enriching journey through the exchange of knowledge between capoeiristas, including mestres and mestras, who promote important debates and share their experiences with fellow Guineans.
