Government of Tamil Nadu Launches Artist Women’s Rights Scheme: Rs.1,000 Monthly Support for Eligible Families

Perambalur, Tamil Nadu – The Government of Tamil Nadu has recently announced the initiation of the Artist Women’s Rights Scheme, aimed at empowering and supporting women in the artist community. Under this scheme, eligible heads of families will be provided with Rs.1,000 per month starting from September 15th, which also marks the birth anniversary of Perarinjar Anna.

To facilitate the enrollment process, the first phase of special camps has already been conducted in the Perambalur district, where interested individuals registered their applications for the scheme. Following this successful initiative, the second phase of special camps commenced yesterday in the Perambalur municipal area, as well as in regions where ration shops are located, such as Perambalur, Alatur, Vepanthatta, and Gunnam taluks.

Heads of families arrived with great interest and enthusiasm, armed with their completed application forms, Aadhaar cards, family card copies, electricity bill receipts, and bank account books, as assigned tokens mentioned the designated time of registration. The applications and tokens were earlier distributed to all family cardholders through their respective ration shop workers.

Officials, along with members of the Women Self Help Committee and volunteer educators from the home search and education program, extended their support to those who had difficulties in filling out the application forms. Additionally, the applications of heads of households were registered online by these volunteers.

The special camps were visited and inspected by Collector Karpagam at various locations including Perambalur Sanguppettai Community Hall, the Marriage Hall near Madanagobalaswamy Temple, the Hostel Building opposite the Government Hospital, and the Senggunam Government School.

The second phase of special camps is set to continue until the 16th of the month. These camps will be operational on all working days, including Sundays, from 9:30 am to 1 pm, and from 2 pm to 5:30 pm. It is worth mentioning that the special camp held at Sengunam Government School was arranged in a festive manner, mirroring the government’s commitment to creating an inclusive and celebratory environment for the visiting families.
