THE GODFATHER’S INCREDIBLE SAGA (6/6) – The worldwide success of The Godfather forces Coppola to give it two sequels. Despite the criticisms, the trilogy will impose itself as a grandiose fresco on the American dream and its dark side.

The novel written at the end of the 1960s by the Italian-American Mario Puzo to pay off his debts became a best-seller, then a planetary phenomenon thanks to the adaptation by Francis Coppola who made three anthology films. “The Godfather” illustrates the American dream and its dark side.
