Knesset Member Tweets About Recent Clashes and Shooting Attack

In the wake of a shooting attack in Tel Aviv and the death of a Palestinian boy in Kfar Burka, Member of Knesset Limor Son Har Melech (Otzma Yehudit) took to Twitter to express her thoughts on the incidents. She drew attention to what she perceived as a discrepancy in how security forces treat different situations.

In her tweet, Har Melech compared the response to a security patrol eliminating a terrorist in Tel Aviv to the treatment of a Jewish individual defending their life in Binyamin against an Arab mob. She suggested that the security system should prioritize dealing with the “nests of terrorism” instead of targeting Binyamin residents.

The tweet came in the aftermath of clashes between settlers and Palestinians in which a 19-year-old Palestinian boy, Kosai Matan, was killed. Har Melech’s tweet highlights her concerns about the response from security forces in such incidents.

Responding to the tweet, an IDF spokesperson denied the claims that the IDF and the security forces delayed their arrival at the scene near the village of Burka. The spokesperson stated that an investigation showed that the gathering in the area began on Friday evening, and it wasn’t until 21:20 that the IDF force arrived after a shot was fired. They argued that the suggestions of delayed response were false and presented a distorted view of the events.

The clashes and shooting incident have once again raised tensions in the area. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict remains a contentious issue, with ongoing incidents stoking emotions on both sides.

As investigations into the incidents continue, it remains to be seen how they will affect the already fragile situation in the region. The tweet by Har Melech reflects the complex nature of the conflict and the differing perspectives surrounding it.
