A policewoman was injured by a motorist who fled, around 12:30 a.m. on the night of Friday August 4 to Saturday August 5 in Montbéliard, in the Doubs, said divisional commissioner Yves Cellier, departmental director of public security for the department. .
Officers were carrying out a routine check on a vehicle on a city street when the 31-year-old officer was violently rammed by another motorist and thrown 4 meters away, he said. The driver fled. Following the shock, the policewoman was airlifted to Besançon hospital but she only suffered a few bruises and was able to leave the hospital in the morning, the divisional commissioner told AFP. She’s been off work for two months.
The investigation will have to determine if the motorist acted “voluntarily or not”.
