Investment of more than 38.4 million euros in the electrification of the Zaragoza-Teruel-Sagunto line
Cariena and Villafranca substations, high voltage overhead line and autotransformation centers
Adif has tendered 38.4 million euros for the traction electrical substations of Cariena and Villafranca, the 220 kV high voltage overhead line and the autotransformation centers, on the 311 kilometer Zaragoza-Teruel-Sagunto line.

The tendered works include civil and construction works, execution of structures, assembly of equipment, pipelines, accesses, security systems, tests and commissioning. Likewise, technical assistance for these works is in the contracting phase for an amount close to 600,000 euros.
The tender is part of the Master Plan for the Zaragoza-Teruel-Sagunto line which, with an investment of 450 million euros, will improve a strategic line due to its geographical location for the rail connection between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic and for connecting the ports of Valencia and Bilbao and with the logistics nodes of Platea in Teruel, Zaragoza-Plaza and Jándiz in Vitoria.
Once the work is completed, the line will be interoperable, will have greater traffic capacity and will promote an increase in circulation speeds and, with it, a reduction in travel times for passengers and goods. Likewise, it will contribute to improving the competitiveness of cargo services and will make the circulation of electric trains possible, reinforcing the efficiency and sustainability of this mode of transport.
