The 41st Copa del Rey Mapfre sailing has come to an end. Beyond the excitement in sports, with different changes in the standings until the last day, there has also been a lot of excitement in the social sphere. The regattas did not end with the arrival at the port, but later continued with the classic “afternoon”.
The first day the atmosphere was very calm, because the security controls prevented people from entering to have a drink in the “Crew Village”. To the surprise of all the workers, you could walk around the esplanade without any problems. At the controls of the music was the well-known DJ Alba Serrano.
The rest of the days, the atmosphere became much more lively. The people already began to cheer up the club after the day’s tests and the artists gave their best. Jaime Anglada was the protagonist of Tuesday afternoon, drawing the entire repertoire of music from him. Authorities like Marga Prohens (president of the Balearic Islands) came to the club to enjoy her music. The Mallorcan artist also enlivened the party by appealing to the public to make them feel part of it. In addition, there was martixaco for snack.
On Wednesday, the Isla Iglú music group gave their best and, with a great atmosphere from those present, put on a great show. Arms up and the people very animated. A great appetizer for Friday.
On Thursday there was the legendary dinner for shipowners where nearly 800 guests enjoyed an evening in white with music led by La Guardia and Alba Serrano. The night ended at 00:30 when they turned on the lights. With dinner, there was no “afternoon” and the atmosphere was much calmer.
Friday was the last day with a post-regatta party at the club and people did not miss the opportunity to go out for a drink with their friends. It was the day that the club’s terrace and esplanade were the most crowded. People could barely move! Like the rest of the days, the party continued in the club’s La Cantina.
Once again, the 41st Copa del Rey Mapfre Sailing Cup did not disappoint and there was a great atmosphere both in sporting and social terms. A long line of celebrities passed through the Real Club Náutico de Palma to go out to sea and watch the regatta. We must highlight Patricia Conde, Fiona Ferrer or Maribel Nadal
