Elke V., 62: After the husband of my husband’s first wife died, she wanted to be near Horst. She calls several times a week and asks him for advice, wants to talk about their children and grandchildren and even asks him for help, for example when it comes to cleaning out the basement. She even called him the other day when her sink was clogged. He is conspicuously helpful and even seems to be happy about her calls. Should I be worried?
Dear Elke, unfortunately I can’t tell you whether you have anything to worry about. First of all, it can be a very good sign that your husband’s first wife contacts him and seeks his help. It can mean that the two spent a good and important time together. They have obviously raised children together and are looking forward to the grandchildren. So they seem to have got on reasonably well together, at least for the children’s war family phase.
