Munich – Hatred and hate speech on the internet keep Bavaria in suspense!
Despite increased search pressure against the authors, 1186 criminal offenses were still reported in 2022.
Above all, the number of anti-Semitic crimes remains alarmingly high. This emerges from the situation report on hate crime that Bavaria’s Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann and Justice Minister Georg Eisenreich (both CSU) want to present in Munich today.
From 2019 (1016) to 2021 (1225), the number of hate crimes in Bavaria rose by around 20 percent during the corona pandemic. To counteract this, several online reporting procedures have been set up in recent years so that those affected can report incidents more quickly.
There are also special offers for victims of anti-Semitic crimes, journalists, queer people and politicians.
