In the Urvan region of Kabardino-Balkaria, as a result of a head-on collision of two cars, two people were killed. According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic, the accident occurred near the village of Zaragizh on the evening of January 3.

“According to preliminary information, the driver of a VAZ-2112 car, a 38-year-old local resident, was moving from the village of Zaragizh in the direction of the village of Psygansu, the driver of the second car, a 40-year-old man with four passengers, was moving in the opposite direction,” the ministry said in a statement.

A 64-year-old man and a 79-year-old woman, passengers of the “ninety-ninth”, died at the scene of the accident. The drivers of the cars, as well as two more passengers of the VAZ-21099, received various injuries. The victims were taken to the hospital.

The causes of the accident are now being established by law enforcement officers. An investigative and operational group is working at the scene of the accident.
