Australia qualify for the quarters by eliminating Denmark

Australia, co-organizer of the World Cup, qualified on Monday August 7 by beating Denmark 2-0 in Sydney and will meet France or Morocco in the quarter-finals next Saturday. The “Matildas” opened the scoring on their first opportunity thanks to Caitlin Foord (29ᵉ) who won her duel with the Danish goalkeeper. In the second half, Hayley Raso scored her third goal of the competition with a cross shot (70ᵉ), before giving way to star Sam Kerr ten minutes later.
