Disney is about to release the series Pauline, in which a young woman falls in love with the devil and becomes pregnant by him. In response, a group of Christians launched an online petition asking the entertainment giant to pull the plug on the production.
The dissatisfaction of a large part of the public with entertainment content that echoes anti-Christian ideologies has led to the success of productions such as The Chosen e Freedom sound, something previously considered unlikely. At the same time, many mainstream films and series have failed at the box office and ratings.
In view of this, the portal team Movieguide – which recently became a worldwide topic for recommending that parents not take their children to theaters to see Barbie – launched an online petition to show the general public’s discontent with the announced launch of series Pauline on Disney+.
“The company lost over $100 million on each of its animated films, Lightyear e Strange world. Both movies, and now potentially the series Pauline, are contents aimed at children under 18 years of age. Not only does the series normalize satanic content in the media, but this twisted series paints the devil as a romantic interest.” Movieguide.
Ted Baehr, founder of the portal and respected film critic among the Christian public, said that “we need to inform the studios that there are still demanding viewers and parents who do not allow this content to be seen by our children.”
