Then join us! We are looking for BILD-Barbie and BILD-Ken 2023!
► Prize for the winners: Pinkepinke (1,000 euros in prize money each) plus a professional Barbie & Ken photo shoot.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re beautifying the beach on the Mediterranean (in a pink bikini or pink swimming trunks) or celebrating the elfin flower color at home in a flamingo jumper. Everyone from 18 to “young at heart, crazy about pink” can take part.

Without BILD, Barbie would never have existed
Few know the full cinematic story of the world’s most famous doll.
The role model was the cheeky, independent BILD Lilli. The comic series was published in the BILD newspaper from 1952 to 1961. In 1953, Lilli was first available as a doll (12 marks).
A year later, Ruth Handler († 85), co-founder of the toy giant “Mattel”, discovered BILD-Lilli. On a trip to Europe with her daughter. “We were absolutely fascinated and couldn’t tear ourselves away from the store,” Handler later wrote.
Shortly after the trip, “Barbie” (after Ruth’s daughter Barbara) saw the light of day in the commercial world.
