On Friday August 8, 1969, the director Roman Polanski telephoned his wife, actress Sharon Tate, to explain to her that he had to stay a few more days in London, held back by the preparation of his next film. Depressed by this news, because she is about to give birth, Sharon invites two of her friends to share, the next day, her lunch at her villa at 10050 Cielo Drive, in Los Angeles.

In the afternoon, she receives a phone call from her sisters Debra and Patti, who offer to spend the night with her. She kindly refuses, unaware that she has just saved their lives. In fact, that evening, she has already planned to invite her ex-fiancé, the hairdresser Jay Sebring, and a couple of friends, Wojciech Frykowski and Abigail Folge, to dinner at her favorite restaurant in El Coyote…
