The film, written by Francesco Albanese, Daniele Di Biasio and Paolo Ruffini, tells the story of four friends who for different reasons find themselves one step away from the abyss, but find a “strange” way to earn a small fortune, which deludes them for a moment to solve their personal problems.
“It’s a story that looks at football, our national sport, with irony, but at the same time with the awareness of how socially rooted it is in us, it’s a way to tell the Italy of today with its exceptionalities and its paradoxes to an audience made up above all of young people, but not only”, declares Francesco Albanese.
‘Uomini da pavement’ follows the story of Gabriele, Gennaro, Oscar and Paco, four friends who for different reasons find themselves ‘one step away from the abyss’. During the World Cup they discover that some women feel lonely and are looking for company.
So they find a way to earn a small fortune to be able to feel important again in the eyes of the people they love, without worrying about the consequences. This paradoxical situation leads the four to discover themselves from a different point of view, which will put them in front of unexpected surprises.
