A Utah man was killed early Wednesday morning in an FBI raid, according to ABC News. The operation would have been carried out within the framework of an investigation that monitored threats against the President of the United States, Joe Biden, and other members of his Administration, including Vice President Kamala Harris.
One of the officials has transferred to the television network that the investigation began in April and that the US Secret Service was notified by the FBI in June. In addition to the threatening messages, the suspect would have announced on the internet his plans to attack the president, which they considered “credible.”
The FBI in Salt Lake City confirmed the shooting took place around 6:15 a.m. local time as special agents tried to serve stop and search warrants at a residence in Provo. Biden was notified first thing in the morning, White House sources say.
“The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or members of special groups very seriously,” the agency statement said. “In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI Inspection Division. As this is an ongoing matter, we have no further details to offer.”
According to information from ABC News, the deceased is Craig Robertson, who also threatened several officials involved in the judicial investigation against former President Donald Trump.
