The double winner of the Prix d’Amérique was considered the best stallion in Europe. He died at the age of 18 in a Normandy stud farm.

Ready Cash is no more. The stallion considered the best in Europe died at the age of 18 near Lisieux, announced the Normandy stud farm of Bouttemont on its website and its X account (ex-Twitter). He won the Prix d’Amérique in 2011 and 2012. It was following an attack of colic on the night of August 8 to 9 that he died in Calvados, at the coach Philippe Allaire.
In the calm of the Normandy countryside, far from the fervor of the racecourses where the crowd cheered him with his driver Franck Nivard, the son of Indy de Vive had said goodbye to the Vincennes racecourse in 2014 and many mares entered on his ball card received his royal seed, sold at a price of gold. The horse with the ebony coat, born on May 20, 2005, had been syndicated in July 2008 for 37,500 euros per stallion share. They were about fifty, including Philippe Allaire, to hold one or more shares which enabled them to sell projections of the star trotter each year.
A breeding horse
Each year, Ready Cash inseminated around a hundred French mares and around forty foreign ones: Italian, German, Swedish or even Dutch.
“He is the best breeder in the world with the American Muscle Hill,” Thierry Berthaud, the stallion owner who has long ensured the good care of the trotting crack, told AFP. “It’s the crack of the races and the crack of the stud-book (the genealogical book), which the legendary Ourasi (winner of four Prix d’Amérique) could not do, who had fertility problems”, had- he thinks.

And to obtain a Ready Cash foal, it was necessary to count at least 40,000 euros for the projection. Ready Cash is the father of world trotting champions: Bold Eagle (2016-2017) and Readly Express (2018), serious competitors as breeding stallions.
“Ready Cash is a breed improver,” said Guitte Allaire. Her husband, Philippe Allaire, is one of the best French coaches with Sébastien Guarato and Jean-Michel Bazire. Ready Cash will have won forty victories, including nine Group 1, the highest level of competition. He had won in races more than 4.2 million euros.
