The number of blood donations is unusually high these days at Lake Constance and in Upper Swabia. For example, all donation dates in Ravensburg-Weißenau were fully booked on Wednesday. In the summertime, the German Red Cross (DRK) usually warns of a lack of blood supplies on a regular basis.

There is currently no emergency in the number of blood supplies, said a spokesman for the DRK blood donation service in Baden-Württemberg/Hesse. In more than 30 years of professional life he has never experienced that. In some years, blood supplies were so scarce that clinics had to postpone operations. The spokesman suspects that the current willingness to donate blood is so high because of the bad weather. That is the case all over Germany.

Blood donation appointments in the region are almost fully booked in the coming days

The well-booked donation date on Wednesday in Ravensburg-Weißenau is no exception. On the Blood donation portal of the German Red Cross on the Internet it can be seen that on Thursday in Bad Waldsee in the Haisterkirch community hall (2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) and in Laupheim at the DRK (2 p.m. to 7 p.m.) and on Friday in Bad Buchau (Biberach district) at the DRK local association (2 to 7:30 p.m.) only a few appointments are still available. In Singen in the Münchriedhalle, almost all blood donation appointments for next Monday (2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) have already been booked.
