Sat.1 has surprisingly secured the rights to “Murmel Mania”. The family show previously ran with moderator Chris Tall on RTL.

For RTL mumbled it: Sat.1 has secured the production rights for several new seasons of the family show “Murmel Mania”, as the broadcaster announced on Thursday. In the show, celebrities compete for the marble game cup. So far, RTL has broadcast the entertainment show and has been showing three seasons with moderator Chris Tall (32) since 2021.

Many balls for Sat.1

“The strategic collaboration with John de Mols Talpa is fun. After ‘The Floor’, ‘Murmel Mania’ is the second show that we’re tackling together for 2024,” said Hannes Hiller, Head of Development at Seven. One Entertainment Group. “‘Murmel Mania’ is the best family entertainment. The event show inspires old and young viewers alike. I’m delighted that Sat.1 will get a lot of balls rolling next year.”

“Murmel Mania” will be implemented by Cheerio Entertainment, a production company of Seven. One Studios, together with Talpa Entertainment Productions in the Netherlands.

Broadcast from next year

The program is to be seen in prime time for the first time in the first half of 2024. It has not yet been announced who will take on the role of host. In addition to Comedian Tall, Frank Buschmann (58) sat at the microphone as a commentator on the RTL shows. “Murmel Mania” was last on the RTL program in January. The celebrities at the time included Oliver Pocher (45), Sarah Engels (30) and Elena Miras (31). The show was partially run up to the jungle show “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” aired and secured an average of 2.31 million viewers for the four episodes on Friday evening.

The lively change of shows among the private broadcasters continues. Most recently, RTL had surprisingly secured the rights to the Raab formats “Beat the Best” and “Blamieren oder Kassieren”, which had been successful for years at the Sat.1 sister station ProSieben.
