Beijing: China realizes dream of artificial sun After a long experiment, China’s artificial sun burned for 17 minutes without stopping. The artificial sun burns at 70 million degrees Celsius, emitting five times as much light as the actual sun.
The Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (East) nuclear reactor is based on the principle of operation of the real Sun. Tokamak’s working principle is nuclear fusion, a nuclear process similar to that of the Sun. According to Chinese media reports, the fuel used was hydrogen and deuterium.
Although many countries, including France, are trying to build an artificial sun, China’s plan has come a long way in this area. China has so far spent a whopping $ 700 billion on a massive ‘artificial sun’ project. The South China Morning Post reports that the trial will last until June 2022.
