Samuel Ndayiragije, promoter of the Samuel’s Hope company, said that the idea of promoting agricultural mechanization is part of responding to a double call from the Burundian Head of State: first where he calls on the diaspora Burundians to invest in their native country but also to the call to increase production. Knowing that the Burundian economy is based at more than 80% on the agricultural sector, it is necessary to revolutionize the techniques of exploitation to face the food shortage and to be able to feed the population which does not stop increasing, explained Samuel Ndayiragije.

He is confident that agricultural motorization will reduce the cost of production, improve the health of the population, which is extremely expensive for the State because it will feed itself and will no longer have the fatigue of spending hours plowing. . It is in this perspective that he reduced the cost of plowing one hectare to 80 thousand while this same area is plowed to 100 thousand by manual labour.

This agricultural mechanization system can also help seed multipliers and large producers who farm large areas by reducing the cost and time of operation.

Samuel Ndayiragije asks owners of large areas without the means to exploit them to confide in his company to negotiate the terms of exploiting them with win-win contracts. Responding to the question that hoe users will experience unemployment, Samuel Ndayiragije said that they will do other field work including weeding, harvesting and plowing in fields not accessible by the machine.

To the question that these four machines which are not sufficient, he made it known that the four machines are there for a test and that six others will reach him to total ten, otherwise, he says, the more the demand will also increase he will increase the number of machines. At the same time, the head of the Burundian diaspora in the United States of America calls on members of the diaspora in general to come and invest in Burundi because Burundi, in addition to being their country of ancestors, is also a country to thousand and one opportunity for investment.

The administrator of the Nyanza-lac commune hailed the initiatives of a son worthy of his native commune who, on the occasion of the communal feast, was awarded a certificate of honor in respect of the people who gave themselves for the development of the community. On the sidelines of these agricultural mechanization activities, Samuel Ndayiragije owns a modern pigsty on Nyabigina hill, Kabonga zone in Nyanza Lac commune, with about 150 animals of different varieties.
