Edgar P. Jacobs (1904 to 1987) worked for “Flash Gordon” and with Hergé on “Tintin” (aka “Tintin”) before he created his own classic of Franco-Belgian comics with “Blake and Mortimer” from 1946. Jacobs himself created eleven albums about the Scottish physics professor Philip Mortimer and the Welsh secret service agent Francis Blake, since 1990 the series has been lovingly continued by other illustrators and authors.

The latest volume “Eight Hours in Berlin” has now been published in German translation (Carlsen Verlag, 56 pages, 12 euros). The drawings are by Antoine Aubin. Jean-Luc Fromental, who has made a name for himself with literature for children, is responsible for the text. We spoke to him about the Blake and Mortimer universe.
