Ligue 1 resumes service this weekend, and it will probably be without Wissam Ben Yedder. According to the daily Nice-Matin, confirmed by the Nice prosecutor’s office, the AS Monaco striker was indicted for “rape, attempted rape and sexual assault”, this Thursday before an investigating judge of the judicial court from Nice. Judicial information has been opened against the 32-year-old international, placed under judicial supervision and who had to “pay a deposit of 900,000 euros”, specifies the Nice prosecutor’s office.

Ben Yedder was hitherto targeted by a complaint for rape for facts which allegedly occurred on July 10 in Beausoleil (Alpes-Maritimes), on the Côte d’Azur. The French international is accused by two young women aged 19 and 20 of having abused them on the sidelines of an evening spent at four. According to the two complainants, Wissam Ben Yedder, and his younger brother, would have “imposed sexual acts” on the two young women.

The 32-year-old striker made his professional football debut in Toulouse before joining Spanish club Sevilla FC in 2016, where he confirmed his full potential. Back in France in 2019, under the colors of AS Monaco, he has 19 selections for the France team, for which he scored three goals.
