Potato/Cepea: Tuber appreciates with supply restriction

This week, from the 7th to the 11th of August, potato prices rose again in all wholesales accompanied by hortifruti/Cepea. According to wholesalers, the scenario is a reflection of the reduction in the volume offered, since producers have insured the harvest and marketing of tubers, in order to promote better sales prices. As a result, average prices for special agate potatoes/25 kg bags were R$ 67.94 wholesale in São Paulo (SP), an increase of 17.45% compared to the previous week; wholesale in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), the tuber was sold for R$ 65.50, an increase of 8.73% and, in Belo Horizonte (BH), R$ 63.42, 9.80% higher.
