Michelle Bolsonaro
The Federal Police issued a request to break the tax and banking secrecy of Michelle Bolsonaro, former first lady. Michelle is now part of the investigation that investigates deviations of gifts offered by authorities to former president Jair Bolsonaro.
The authorization of the request will be in charge of the rapporteur of the case, the minister of the STF (Superior Federal Court) Alexandre de Moraes. The former first lady is expected to join Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Barbosa Cid, former aide to the former president, Mauro César Lourena Cid, father of Mauro Cid, Osmar Crivelatti, also a former aide to Bolsonaro, and Frederick Wassef, former lawyer for Jair Bolsonaro and his family.
All of them are being investigated by the operation “Luke 12:2”, which references a biblical passage that says: “There is nothing hidden that will not be discovered, or hidden that will not be known”.
The operation seeks information on the attempted sale of jewelry received by Bolsonaro from other Heads of State, the most emblematic case being a jewelry kit by the Swiss brand Chopard, valued at more than $100,000, given by the government of Saudi Arabia.
The operation discovered that there was an attempt to sell the jewelry at an auction in the United States. However, as they are gifts to a Head of State, the pieces are of public interest and cannot be sold without authorization from the Union, nor leave Brazilian territory without permission from the State.
