Communication, education and society in agriculture

Agro Brasileiro has to involve urban society about the benefits of agribusiness through data and facts and good stories, told with appropriate language so that communication is effective and not just in the segment itself. In the panel “Communication, Education and Society: cross-sectional analyzes on agriculture”, during the Andav 2023 Congress, specialists understand that the failure in communication requires what they called a “Plan of truth and transparency”, with parameters and metrics.

Marcos Amazonas, CEO of Connect Entretenimento e Educação, said that it is necessary to show the sector’s performance in different channels that reach all audiences with direct messages to the new generations. Letícia Jacintho, president of De Olho No Material Escolar (DONME), agrees and recalls that Brazil is the country that loses the most young people from the countryside to the cities.

Mônika Bergamaschi, president of the Board of the Brazilian Agribusiness Association of the Ribeirão Preto Region (ABAG-RP), says that good communication is in the correct understanding and that it is necessary to discover the purpose of young people in order to better involve them. Cassiano Ribeiro, editorial director at Globo Rural and Valor, says that lack of knowledge and physical and social distancing are some of the reasons why the population is unfavorable to agro. Ricardo Nicodemos, president of the Brazilian Association of Rural and Agro Marketing (ABMRA), understands that it is necessary to build a positioning that goes beyond the limits of the sector and the countryside.

From Brazilian economy and politics to innovation – At the end of the Andav 2023 Congress, presenter Alexandre Garcia said that Agro needs more voices in politics, the media and schools. And then, closing the agenda in the plenary of the event, the professor of the School of Communications and Arts of USP, Clóvis de Barros Filho, approached innovation as a permanent movement of improvement.

Over the three days, the Andav 2023 Congress Plenary addressed topics related to innovation, technology, credit, communication, education, society, inclusion, diversity, tax reform and the political-economic scenario. Among the reflections made by the panelists, the highlights were due to Brazil having a sustainable production in Agro, which needs to be better communicated to the consumer markets, to find new business opportunities with the use of technology and innovation, to the leading role of the distributor of inputs for the dissemination of new products, services, technology and information to rural producers; credit growth and private investment in the sector; and the ongoing work of Distributors to keep the industry growing and developing.
