Iranians are on a “gradual path from Islam to Christ”

Despite occupying the 8th position in the ranking of countries where religious persecution is more intense and risky, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been the target of God’s move over the decades, and the Lord has made Iranians walk a “path stepwise from Islam to Christ”.

This is information celebrated by Pastor Hormoz Shariat, who has been an evangelist in the Muslim country for decades. Born in Islam, but converted to Christ and now living in the United States, he maintains a radio communication network that reaches countries in the Middle East.

“42 years of Islamic rule brought a miserable life to the people of Iran. The corruption, the violence, the murders. The people of Iran have come to the conclusion that Islam is not the solution, but the problem, and they need to get rid of it”, explains the evangelist.

Shariat says that the evangelical growth in a country where preaching the Holy Bible can lead to death, is not the result of chance, but of God’s action over generations, something that has even started from the very perception of Iranians when they encounter with Christian doctrine.

“The rejection of Islam is not a matter of emotions that have just happened. It took over 40 years. It was a gradual path from Islam to Christ,” these him, according to Guiame.

The missionaries’ work has been fundamental for Iranians to be reached, but Pastor Shariat says that now, Muslims themselves are also being touched by the Truth revealed in their hearts, whenever they come across the Scriptures and observe the differences.

“When Iranians reject Islam, they look around and discover: there is something totally opposite of what Islam is, and that is Christianity. This is why Iran has the fastest growing evangelical population in the world,” he points out.

“It is an action of God, He took advantage of the situation in Iran. First the intellectuals started questioning Islam and then more and more people (…). The religious part of Iranian society began to question Islam and after a few years came to the conclusion that Islam does not come from God.
