On Tuesday, August 8, Barbie passed three million viewers, in Ultracine you can see 3,004,439 tickets sold and 3,585 million pesos collected.
The movie was released on July 20, so it took 19 days to pass three million. The last premiere to pass that mark had been AVATAR 2 and it did so in 61 days. A recent one was also the last Spiderman to do it in 27 days.
If we look further back in time, the absolute record was achieved by Toy Story 4, which did it in 10 days, followed by Avengers with 16, while The Lion King did it in 23.
Possibly Barbie is the fourth film to reach three million viewers faster in Argentine history, because the first of the Minions that did it in 17 sneaks into third place. That fourth place is amazing because tickets have already been released the winter holidays,
Obviously the film still has a lot of material left to cut, but in addition to the three million reached yesterday, a few days ago it had already surpassed Super Mario Bros as the highest grossing film of this 2023.
