For this start to the Ligue 1 season, Monaco and Rennes won easily while Lens fell to Brest.

It’s a start to the League season marked by a big disappointment for Lens. The club stumbled against Brest on Sunday (3-2), unlike Monaco and Rennes, wide winners of Clermont (4-2) and Metz (5-1).
The Sang et Or, dolphins of PSG in 2022-2023, thought they had done the hardest by leading 2-0 after 22 minutes. But the Brestois managed to reverse the situation, with a double from Romain Del Castillo on the penalty spot, and crack the Northerners, who finished the match at ten after the exclusion of Adrien Thomasson (82nd).
This result is hardly reassuring for the Lensois who were particularly weakened this summer with the departure of two of their leaders and artisans of their great adventure during the previous exercise, the midfielder and captain Seko Fofana (Al-Nassr) and striker Lois Openda (RB Leipzig).
Wissam Ben Yedder, indicted, upheld
The return to the lawns of L1 went much better for the Monegasques, who returned from Clermont with a victory (4-2). The game had started very badly for ASM with a big ball from Swiss goalkeeper Philipp Köhn, supposed to bring serenity to the cage after the mistakes of his predecessor Alexander Nübel.

Fortunately for Monaco, Vanderson, Wissam Ben Yedder twice then Maghnes Akliouche put their team back on the right track. The prosecution had requested the detention of the player, but this was refused by the judge of freedoms and detention.
Rennes, a serious contender for the podium, also did very well with a demonstration against Metz at home (5-1).
Nantes, narrowly saved from relegation, was surprised by Toulouse at Beaujoire (2-1) and lost goalkeeper Alban Lafont, released on a stretcher in the second half. The promoted Le Havre had more success by picking up a point in Montpellier (2-2).
