Difficult times for coach Lottermoser

The 56-year-old trainer is probably going through the hardest time as a Pongau coach. “The fact that things didn’t go so well at the start came as a surprise to all of us,” emphasizes Lottermoser, for whom the weekend went well after the clear defeat in Tyrol. “I had a sleepless night and got up at five to watch the game again.” On Sunday, while hiking with his wife, he considered the next steps. “We’re definitely not getting nervous, but something has to change. We don’t have the basics anymore. We have to work on that as soon as possible.”

State Cup as an encourager?

While the regional league competition can prepare for the next round in peace, the state cup duel in Neukirchen (2nd state league south) is already on the program for St. Johann on Tuesday. “Actually, like in previous years, I wanted to play with a very young team. We will change that: We take this game very seriously and want to gain self-confidence for the league. But it will certainly not be easy,” says Lottermoser, who also wants to insert a training session on Tuesday morning.

Tough opponents in the next few weeks

It is clear that the tasks in the next rounds will not be easier: On Friday, Schwaz will be a strong guest in St. Johann, after that archrival Bischofshofen will be waiting. In these two games, Dominik Waltl will again guard the goal. The goalie was excluded on Saturday in Tyrol for goal robbery, but can serve his ban in the state cup. “He conceded 13 goals in three games, but it’s certainly not his fault,” emphasizes Lottermoser, who hasn’t yet felt any unrest in the club: “We’re all sticking together and we’ll get out of the doldrums together.”
