The rebels who came to power as a result of a coup in Niger during a visit to Conakry asked the Guinean authorities for increased support for the country. This was reported by the Guinean broadcasting company RTG, reports Day.Az with reference to Lenta.ru.
The source noted that the rebels were received by Guinea’s transitional president, Mamady Dumbua. The channel reported that General Moussa Salau Barmou, who led the Nigerian delegation, indicated that Niger “not only expresses gratitude, but asks for increased support from Guinea” to face future challenges.
Guinea became the first country to come out in support of the rebels in Niger. Its authorities stated that they expect guarantees of stability and harmony in the country from the participants in the coup d’état.
