The weapons group, which belongs to the Internal Service section, is looking for service-oriented, quality-conscious, and relationship-building individuals to join their team. The weapons group’s physical workplace is located in Kungsholmen, but the work extends throughout the entire region.
As a weapons technician, the main responsibilities include servicing, repairing, and administering the Police’s service weapons. This crucial role ensures that the weapons are well-functioning and safe. Working closely with colleagues in the workshop, technicians will disassemble, wash, dry, oil, and assemble weapons. Other tasks include inspection and repair work, weapons administration, documentation, spare parts management, and various workshop-related duties. Ongoing training will also be provided within the authority.
To qualify for this position, the Police Region Stockholm requires applicants to have education and/or experience in workshop work, preferably with a focus on fine mechanics. Good knowledge of both Swedish and English, as well as computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, are necessary. A B driver’s license is also required.
Additional advantageous qualifications include weapons technical training, familiarity with weapons such as Sig Sauer and/or AK weapons, and experience in weapon repair and service. It is essential for candidates to be familiar with the safe handling and use of weapons as test shooting and troubleshooting may be required.
